Hannya mask Japanese leg tattoo progress
I started this project last month, a whole upper-leg Japanese tattoo project for my long-time client Tawn. We started with this Hanna mask and snake tattoo, we were able to get the line work and black shading in about 3.5 hrs. In our second session, we did a Daruma doll tattoo on his knee. Daruma dolls are a traditional Japanese representation of Bodhidharma, a Buddhist monk. They are seen as a symbol of perseverance and good luck, alongside with the concept of setting and achieving goals.
New Neotraditional painting
I just finished this new painting a few days ago, including two of my favorite subjects. Beautiful women and snakes, also art nouveau style and Neo traditional ornaments.
Neotraditional tattoo process
Hello, I wanted to share the process of this custom neotraditional tattoo from start to finish and all healed up. This was a custom project on a long time client and I had pretty much total freedom with the design so I had a lot of fun with it and I was very excited that my client loved it!
In the first session (first photo) we only got to do all line work which took us about 3.5 hrs or so, followed by another 3 hr session (second photo) after about 3 weeks for all the black shading and some color. We finished the piece on one last third 3 hrs tattoo session after another 3 weeks to finish all the color and tie everything up (third photo). The last photo shows the tattoo fully healed for about 1.5 months.
We chose to do short sessions due to our availability and the size of the tattoo (about 5x12 inches). I hope you enjoy this little glimpse into my tattoo process and if you like this neotraditional tattooing style I would be really happy to work with you and help you with similar tattoo ideas.

Neo traditional tattoo seminar
I am very grateful to be able to attend this Neo traditional tattoo seminar in Medellin, Colombia this past August of 2021. I’ve learned a lot about design and techniques applied to this awesome style, it being one of my favorites styles in tattooing I was super excited to learn from three great artists and being able to travel to this amazing country.

All Customers and artists should wear a face mask at all times while inside the building.
Temperature will be taken upon arrival to ensure you don’t have a fever.
Hand sanitizer would be provided, please use upon entering.
If you have been feeling sick, please consider re scheduling your appointment to a later date.
Only the person getting tattooed would be allowed into the shop (no companions).
Please be considerate and maintain 6 feet apart from everybody.

I am a little sad to leave my Apothic Heart/Wandering Crow Tattoo family after almost 2 years, however I’m beyond excited to start this new chapter in my tattoo career and I look forward to start new fun and creative projects at my own studio Dark Atelier Tattoo.
